Shay,
As requested, here are the first comments:
1. The layout of the Forum is a little confusing. Perhaps "new Topic" at the top right should be changed to "Post comment"
2. You stated that the month codes are automatically programmed for chart selection. If you could print the code below the actual month on the chart, it would aid in placing orders with a broker.
3. The time base is still not programmable for indicators. At present, the only adjustable time base are the moving averages.
4. The seasonal index does not stay active when changing from one chart to another, unless I save charts under my profile. It should be able to stay active like the chart type.
5. Since the chart settings box collapses, there is no reason to have a scroll slide on the right hand side. This way, users would not forget that chart sizing is available.
6. Sometimes when two or more indicator lines are very close in value, it is hard to obtain a value. Rather than having the mouse over a specific line, resulting in one value, it would be better if the mouse-over would display all values on that specific day. In the case of ADX, all 3 values would be displayed for a particular day. The same mouse-over feature could be done to the net commercials in Window 1 to allow for improved displayed values.
7. COT Window 1 allows net COT position and COT index. How about adding a third option of including swap dealers.
8. A moving average of net Position may also appeal to users.
9. In COT WINDOW 2 of the COT data base, you allow simple mathematical functions, resulting in one line plotted. It would be nice to be able to plot 2 additional lines in the same COT window 2. That way we could look for divergence easier.
10. In COT Window 2, the mouse-over feature is presently programmed to display below the line. I find myself constantly scrolling up and down when trying to view the chart at the same time. Perhaps the mouse-over display could be placed at the top of WINDOW 2.
11. The background at the "Get Chart" function at the bottom, appears to overlay onto the "comm" & "large" selectors.

Hedger,
Thanks for the suggestions. One quick question, what browser and version do you use?
Shay Campbell Timing Charts, LLC The trend is your friend until the end, when it bends.
Firefox 3.6.1 with Adobe Flash Player 10.1
As always Hedger you give a guy a lot to think about... thanks for the suggestions!
The fist thing that jumps out at me is number 4.
"4. The seasonal index does not stay active when changing from one
chart to another, unless I save charts under my profile. It should be
able to stay active like the chart type."
I've tested this using Firefox 3.6.10, Internet Explorer 7 & 8. All work for me. Once I set the control to COT Index it remains for each new symbol I look at.
The next two that I cannot recreate are numbers 5 and 11.
"5. Since the chart settings box collapses, there is no reason to
have a scroll slide on the right hand side. This way, users would not
forget that chart sizing is available."
"11. The background at the "Get Chart" function at the bottom, appears to overlay onto the "comm" & "large" selectors."
I think these are because of your screen resolution. If you decrease the screen resolution to make things larger then the objects on the screen become distorted and show up in strange places. I'm just guessing that's what the problem is because I don't see that using 3 different screen sizes and 3 different browsers.
The rest of the features you listed are all being done now but with a different charting application. I also wanted these improvements so we have been working to provide them. The current charting application has some limitations so it requires an upgrade to make them work.

Shay,
I tried re-creating #4 with a COT Index instead of net Position, both by anonymous browsing & by logging in. I find that it does not change. The seasonal still needs to be activated for each chart, unless I save each chart under my profile. Does the server have a maximum operation setting without saving the chart ?
for #5 & #11 : I have my browser set for minimum font size of 14. That way, I can read web pages with the monitor on the other side of the desk;
(without reading glasses).
During this past summer, I consulted the CME idea exchange team on several issues, during their website redesign. However, they decided to keep the status quo - a font size of 10, which is hard to read for people over age 40 ( your target market ). What font size is your default ?
My apologies hedger, I see what you mean, the seasonal index turns off after each page view. I was thinking COT Index in my first reply. I think we can fix that!
Screen resolution and font size are two different things. I wouldn't think the font size would have a huge impact on the positioning of the objects on the page. What would have a huge impact is the monitor resolution.
Specifically what I'm talking about is the scroll bar you see on the right side of the page. Also, you said the "Get Chart" button on the bottom of the page is overlaid on Comm and Large check boxes which means on your screen the button is on the left side of the page but it is designed to be on the right side. That to me seems like it could only happen if your screen resolution is set really low. I played with my screen resolutions and was unable to replicate a screen like you describe though. I have to say I'm running out of ideas.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Seasonal index has been fixed. The check box stays selected until you deselect it.

Shay,
I checked my computer control panel. Display settings are 1440 x 900 @ 32 bit. As it is the highest available for this card. Resolution is not the issue.
On the Firefox tool bar, go to TOOLS \ Options \ Fonts & Colors \ Advanced. I then set all 3 settings to 10 font. TimingCharts behaved like you said.
I then changed Proportional Serif size back to 14. There was no change in the website display from the 10 point font; and continued to behave like you said.
I then changed Monospace \ Courier New back to 14 font. Again your web page behaved like you said.
Lastly, I changed "Minimum Font Size from 10 back to 14, and returned to the web page. My display became different & returned to what I have been describing.
Hi Shay,
Are you bringing back the "saved charts" feature? I saw it had reappeared and then was removed again. FYI, Did you notice on the home page the top data banner overlays the forum topics?
I appreciate you work in this area as a resource for us minnows. I am looking forward to
interpreting the data forums.
The site workes march better last time. thanks.
Shay, many thanks for making this useful website available for free. I have two suggestions in case you are thinking about future upgrades: adding a third moving average and allowing the user to establish the period for the donchian channel.
Best!
Alwi
Aleks,
Yes, all of your requests will be done. I plan to provide complete control over the way the charts are created and what you want to see on them. It will take some time though, keep the suggestions coming!

Willie,
The save chart feature is working now. Just create a new login and the save chart option will appear.

Shay, thanks for the feedback. One additional suggestion would be to keep the previous option to see "linked" contracts, either by selecting a "nearby" or "continuous" option. Best, Aleks
Alwi
Aleks, the linked charts are still there. If the symbol you selected is for a pit traded contract you can also choose 'Linked' which links together historical contracts. That option is only available on the pit traded contracts though. If you're looking at one of the new electronic markets you won't see the option for linked contracts. Take a look at this post for more on this: http://www.timingcharts.com/content/commodity-symbols

Shay, thank you for the feedback. I have two additional suggestions regarding new features: allowing the user to plot the highest high and lowest low based on the daily close (and not the intraday values used in the Donchian channel) and to create a chart of the historical volatillity for any specified time period.
Best, Aleks
Alwi
Good suggestions Aleks, I do plan on making all indicators fully customizable on a future release.

Shay,
Would it be possible to make a weekly "market profile" indicator aligned to the COT reporting periods (Wednesday open to Tuesday close ) ?
Shay,
Sucks to bring it up again lol but it looks like the CHARTS are being impeded by the ads. It's frustrating because EXACT DATA is the most important feature of this site for traders.
There is now an ad DIRECTLY BELOW the Commercial/Large Traders/Specs section of the charts and now the actual points (EXACT NET SHORTS OR EXACT NET LONGS) are guesstimated, like "100.0" instead of being EXACT simply because the ad is in the way.
Is there any way you can NOT place any ads directly BELOW the charts so the data can be exact? Maybe it's my screen again, but it just looks way off and not exact as far as the Commercial data, etc.
Could you just put the ads to the left or right of the charts, but leave the BOTTOM so the CHARTS can be full-size and can represent the exact data with regards to the COT Report?
Just wondering.
Sounds like I am complaining sorry about that lol but this is very important.
Thanks, Shay! Again, great site, just my 2 c.
Best,
Mike H.

Hello Mike,
Could you add the screenshot when CHARTS are impeded by the ads? I tested that with IE, FF, Safari and Opera with different widths, but I can't see how charts are impeded by the ads below. Unless you don't like them psychologically.

Julius,
You're right. It was the computer I was on earlier. My office computer is fine and so is my home one. No impediments at all. The boy's crying wolf lol My bad.

No problem, Mike, thank you for the feedback. We want to improve the site and we are doing quite a few changes on the site and experimenting a lot. So it always might bring new issues. Your feedback is appreciated. However, I understood that on some "earlier" computer there is still and issue. If so, when you have a chance please send the screenshot. You can send it to my contact.

Shay,
I notice that some of the data is being repeated in the charts. Note the data at the end of December 2010 in the Soybean continuous chart. It happened again near the end of February 2011. Two candles with the same date, and same action. The result is that the indicators are not responding correctly.
Hedger,
I believe all of the data has been corrected now. Let me know if you see anymore duplicate quotes, thanks!

Shay,
Duplicate data is now seen at February continuous Corn.
Hedger
Hi Shay,
With the latest website version, the data box that appears on the mouse over, on the charts is flashing too fast.
The mouse over data box in the other windows appears to be fine.
Also, under the Forum settings there is no longer a setting that allows the most recent post to be at the top of the page and oldest at the bottom. Net result is that a user needs to scroll through all of the old posts in each topic to get to the new post.
Hello,
I could not have the cot index on crude oil today.
Thanks
Hallo,
since a few weeks I can´t open my saved charts.
It say´s "Saved Charts are currently unavailable".
Can anyone please tell me, if and when I can save and load charts again?
Thank´s a lot,
reidi
I apologize for having the "saved charts" feature being down for so long. Many changes were made to the web server so I can bring you even better charts than you see now. These changes caused a few problems that need to be fixed. I decided to look forward rather than backwards and to push on with the development of the new charts and then correct the "problems" after you have the new charts. Maybe not the best decision, I will try to finish this as quickly as possible!
